Neue Testversion 17.50b6

Beitrag von Gerhard Huber »

Hallo,

es gibt wieder eine neue Testversion 17.50b6.

Mac OS X:
http://www.pl32.net/beta/plx1750b6.zip

Windows:
http://www.pl32.net/beta/pl1750b6.zip

Neues:
- Brushengine: jetzt mit Streuung von Position, Größe, Winkel und Farbe
- Automaske mit "Objekt entfernen"

diverse Kleinigkeiten

Windows:

Gerhard,

Seems Beta 6 brings better PSD import for layer Fxes, so thank you for that. Still imported PSD differs a bit from how it looks in PhotoShop:

Bild Photoshop CS6 (reference)
Bild PhotoLine 17.50 Beta 6
Bild PhotoLine 17.50 Beta 5

Bild Photoshop CS6 (reference)
Bild PhotoLine 17.50 Beta 6
Bild PhotoLine 17.50 Beta 5

Do you think there's a chance to provide almost pixel perfect import of PSD files for PhotoLine? I can provide any/further help if needed.

Btw. Is PSD vector shape import possible to implement? Now all shapes are rasterized during import, so it is not possible to edit them anymore in PhotoLine. I know PL imports AI files pretty well, so maybe importing PSD vector shapes wouldn't be big deal.

not when there are so many layer effects as your examples have. Especially when there are color overlay, gradient overlay on one layer.

"Vector shape"? I didn't know that you can create vector graphics with PS. Do you think that there are vector data in your example images?

It appears this version is starting faster.

Understood, however it is only the problem when both color & gradient overlay Fxes are present, but then you can merge these 2 into one Photoline gradient color overlay effect, making each PL gradient step color to be PSD Fx color overlay color blended with PSD Fx gradient overlay step color. As I wrote in former mail, this will make PSD file look valid in such case, of course in trade of loosing one degree of freedom (2 effects merged into one).

Oh yes, all shapes in these 2 files are vector. See:
Bild

PS since long time has ability to do basic vector (bezier) shapes, and this feature is used heavily by icon and GUI designers. Latest CS6 beta makes it even more confortable as before vector shape was always kind of clip mask, now it is just another type of the layer (but PSD format has not changed AFAIK). That was a reason I wrote that CS6 takes what's best from PL :) Still I believe PL vector editing capabilities are far better.

Some tutorials of making vector stuff in PSD:

I recommend you grabbing latest (and free for testing) CS6 beta from:

Just WOW, I have to take my hat off with this version, congrats :D Thanks for add this brushengine.

I know that this is a beta but I would like to point out few things that I have found:

- When using copybrush the size and color dynamics doesn´t work.
- In the brush list the divider says "Streuung" between the normal edit and the new brush dynamics.
- If a brush is selected in the Brush list (the one that you can dock) the thumbnail doesn´t update in the Edit tab, in order to update it, the brush have to be selected from the brush list in the toolbox.

Cheers
Juan

Juan hat geschrieben:- When using copybrush the size and color dynamics doesn´t work.
Currently the size jitter of the copy brush only works, if you turn off "Preview Copy" in the "Tool Settings". I will fix that.

Color jitter works only with tools using the foreground color. Depending on its value it creates a blended color from the foreground and background color. If the foreground color isn't a simple color but a blend or pattern, the used color is read from the blend/pattern.

The Brush Editor in the Brush List palette doesn't edit the brush selected in the brush list, but the brush of the toolbox. If you want to edit a brush of the brush list directly, you have to use the context menu of the Brush List ("Edit…").

Hallo,
