OK, I understand. As a matter of fact, I didn't notice the difference in thickness until I zoomed in to more closely examine the jagged corners. Thanks for the explanation.

Yes, the Outline Outside style currently simply executes a maximum round filter on the alpha channel of the layer. This way sharp edges always create sharp outlines.

Sounds good. Of course the solution for text is to use the text properties to apply an outline, but I was concerned the Outline Outside style would also give these unwanted effects to vector objects such as polygons....

Yes, I think it can be eeeeeasily done....
Just take everything out on Highway 61.
