Distort image with image

Post by dutchman »

Hello Betafriends,
I do have serious problems to remake an earlier version of a -so called- displacement map.
I've installed 19.90b2.
I open a certain file.
I've another file with the same dimensions, only black/white (called displacement.jpg) not opened.
Now I open a flag to "lay over" the tree (in this case).
On this I "distort image with image" (the flag with the displacement)
The one I made for years is here:
colorize-roughsurface.jpg
Is this function corrupt, or, what's wrong with my approach?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I don't see any problem. The flag's image is correctly distorted by the contours of the tree.
Ken
Yes, I think it can be eeeeeasily done....
Just take everything out on Highway 61.

Same here. In most cases, the dialogue preview seems to show the correct result, but the document preview and the final result look totally different – seems that the document is just split into four rectangles which are shifted a bit in "Scale" mode, and very small rectangles in "Repeat" mode (despite the fact that both layers are the same size). Fwiw, I didn't try loading an external image but pasted a layer using the "Insert" button.

I guess this is the result he used to get, not what he gets now.

Cheers

Burkhard.
