How many steps can the history hold and can it be changed in the preferences?

Hello millin:

You can hold up to 500 steps!
Adjust it under
"Options"-"options"-"working"-"undo" but keep in mind that the higher the adjustment the slower the working speed: If you wirk with large files/images/graphics, a huge amount of memory is allocated for the undo operations. So you might consider to lower the range for this kind of files!

I generally work with 30 steps........ this is really enough! If you like to keep intermediate results it is better to save the file in different states than using that many undo steps!

thank you for your response to my question that I posted yesterday.
Today I've run into a different proble. When I open an image there
is an embedded thumbnail in the top right hand corner. Is this some-
thing that I can turn off in my preferences?

Hi Millin:

I am not 100% sure to understand your problem! Please explain always as good as possible!

As far as I understand, you are sure that the "thumbnail" is produced by Photoline 32 and not a part of the image!?

Does that thumbnail reside in a small (movable) window named "page map"?
Then select "View"-Toolbars"-"Dialogs" and uncheck "page map" and it disappears.

Please give me a feedback to know if that was the reason. If not, take a picture of the screen you can see (Print Screen) and send it to me by mail for further help.

Are you using WINDOWS as a operating system?

I think the problem occurs only on TIFF images. Some programs save a preview image into TIFF files. Since PL32 can load multipage TIFF files, it reads the preview image as a second layer. The problem is that the preview image is not marked as a preview image so PL32 can't notice that it should not be loaded.
You can delete the small image, select it in the layer dialog and press "Del" on your keyboard.
