Seems to work here. Are you using the most recent version of the action? There was a similar problem with the first version when using the official PL version.

Cheers

No, scaled text layers are not converted to bitmap layers when they are fixed. Only if they have "special effects", like layer effects they are converted.

Perhaps I celebrated too early in regards to the layer style bevels. For some obscure reason sometimes I get beautiful ones, and at other times they look like the old ugly ones. I cannot pinpoint the difference in workflow in obtaining one or the other: in one case I have two identical text boxes, and one renders nice bevels, while the second one looks terrible. Very, very odd.

Is this still a work in progress?

Yes, I noticed this happens with vector objects as well. But how can scaled vector and text objects be "reset" to 100% without killing the vector or text object in those cases?

I ask, because texts, when scaled, display the "wrong" text size: a 100pt font size, when upscaled twice with transforming, still displays as 100pt in the text properties font size. although in actuality it displays as a 200px font size in the view. When I try to fix ("reset" or apply the transform), the text is converted to a bitmap - but that is of course unwanted behaviour in the case of using layer effects.

ANSWER: hold down <shift> while fixing the layers will only apply transformation properties. Found it in the manual!

I finally discovered the difference: when the line colour is not set to transparent (no colour) (or when with working outlined text) the rendering of the bevel looks all wrong.

As I found out, this is actually a FEATURE, not a bug at all! It allows for beveled strokes, which is pretty damn cool. I had not noticed this before now. So it is just a matter of turning off the line colour.

Sorry for crying wolf.

Since you have been working on the render quality: still a number of render issues exist in the current implementation:

Prob: Outer Emboss layer style

Beitrag von photoken »

Win7x64 SP1
PL19.40b5x64

The Outer Emboss layer style seems to create artifacts when the "Flattening" is set to < 7%:

Screenshots are usually not helpful. As Gerhard wrote: Please send a sample PLD (using common fonts, that we are likely to have installed, is a plus).

Here you are. It is not font specific: any font may render with artifacts - it just depends on the font size. At certain sizes it looks good, and increasing the font size by 1 pixel may introduce jaggies here and there.

I have the same artifact issue. When you enlarge objects to minimum 3000 px, fix the layer and apply the effect, and than decrease to normal size, they start to look smooth. I'm writing just to give idea about the source of problem. Sure it's not a solution, or even temporary solution :)

Die Frage die sich mir stellt; wie genau kann man das verbesserte Rendering auf eine vorhandenes Alt-File anwenden?

:D

Nice new feature : controlling the size of the "brush type" tool using "SHIF" + mouse wheel.

Very handy.

Thanks

Are you certain the outline is turned off for that text? When the outline is active, that is exactly the result I got. Without an outline, it looks much better. Still artifacts here and there, though.

Wie ich schon beim letzten mal schrieb: Screenshots helfen uns nichts. Wenn du ein Beispiel-PLD hast, sehen wir uns das gerne an.
