This is really great with scenic images that have a lot of detail:

This filter works much better that that "gimmick" Dream Thing filter in Krita -- the PL filter does a much better job of following the contours of the original image, and it's a thousand times faster.

Ken Yes, I think it can be eeeeeasily done....
Just take everything out on Highway 61.
The dialog for the Context Blur filter distorts the colours in the "After" panel:

Also, it would help to have a progress bar for the filter, either in the dialog box itself or in the main Status Bar -- the filter does take a significant amount of time to process the entire image, and often the changes are so subtle that it is difficult to see the progress in the image itself.

I noticed we now have an option to paint with colour depending on the pen pressure? It would be great if all of these options (intensity, brush size, and colour) could be combined in any way we want. In place of a static drop-down menu, perhaps use the same system as the channels? Or check boxes?
And the "paint only once" and "connect brush positions" ought to become part of the brush settings as well. It takes too much time to open the options, and change these two settings.
A small request. When we scale a bitmap layer in the view, and fix it, we cannot decide which sampling algorithm is used. Would it be possible to amend the Working-->Special options with an option "default (sampling) interpolation" which controls which general interpolation method is used when rotating, scaling, etc. and fixing the changes (when exporting, etc as well).

I'd prefer that in the usual layer properties. Nut sore if this could even fit into the already available antaliasing options.

Me too, but I have requested this before, and at the time Martin seemed to be hesitant about adding this. I think this is an important option to have - no matter if it is added to the preferences or to the layer properties.
