Here it does.Herbert123 wrote:1) while it is possible to draw with a vector brush, it does not work yet with bitmap painting.

I thought, it doesn't work with bitmap painting for you?Herbert123 wrote:2) bitmap painting is very slow because all the copies are updated in real-time.
The speed depends on the zoom level (corresponding to the number of tiles). So for bitmap painting, it's probably better to zoom in and just see the borders of the neighbour tiles... Anyway, if there is no other solution.

The vector brush can be used to draw outside the borders. The bitmap brush/tools cannot - those will only work on the bitmap canvas inside the borders.
The speed issue can be possibly solved by turning off the realtime updating. However, Krita also supports seamless (bitmap) painting, and there is no performance hit in Krita when turning on seamless painting. Not entirely sure how they do it, but I believe they blit directly in the canvas (using OpenGL). But Photoline does not use OpenGL - I have no idea how Gerhard solved this. It seems to me that the copies are doing the same work as the "master" one, and that results in a slow-down.

Re: Neue Testversion 19.90b5
This can be quite a seller, actually: for example, Photoline can now be used for seamless textile pattern creation as well.photoken wrote:Thanks for that -- I was not sure what the feature could be used for.Herbert123 wrote: That will be a huge selling point for anyone even remotely interested in texture creation.
At this point, however, the seamless mode still needs some work before it becomes practical: exporting does not work yet as expected, and switching back to "normal" mode removes the pattern. It also lack a "fix" option to fix the pattern and creates a version that can be used outside of "seamless mode".
In Krita, when the user switches off seamless mode, the changes are maintained in the canvas. In Photoline switching back to normal mode the content partly disappears (where the user drew in the border areas).
Another issue is the border: in seamless mode the border ought to be the same colour as the main canvas. Currently it is darkened (depends on your border settings).
This is a good starting point, though. Just needs a bit more refinement before it becomes a great new feature in Photoline.

Re: Neue Testversion 19.90b5
@Herbert123: I understood this mode completely different:
This mode is only for the pattern creation process. If the pattern is thought to be finished you can create a texture from this document (right click in the pattern panel -> "Color From Document") with the knowledge that the cutting sites are fine and the complete thing is looking as you wanted and so on.
I guess, it's not intended to be used in the final document (as a kind of live editing).

Re: Neue Testversion 19.90b5
The only thing that is lacking, in my opinion, is the possibility to edit patterns directly (not to create a new document from an existing pattern (where pattern mode is switched on automatically (very intuitiv
)) and then reimport it as a new pattern and so on. So, that one can do live editing in two windows: the first one with the main document a second one for the pattern (in pattern mode of course
). That's all. But i don't know if it is possible within the program structure of PhotoLine.

Re: Neue Testversion 19.90b5
What you are saying makes sense - although I would think this is a perfect mode for general purpose seamless texture generation (textile patterns, 3d repeating textures, and so on).
Of course, I do not know what the brothers have in mind here. In Krita the seamless mode is meant for general texturing work and pattern creation.
I see no reason why Photoline's seamless mode would not be able to do the same - and with vectors!

Small workflow improvement request: when creating an object, or scaling it, or moving it, etcetera, it would be extraordinarily handy if we could hold down either the spacebar or the middle mouse button to pan the view.

Curve editing workflow request: when a point is added, the original shape is kept intact.
However, when we remove a point, the shape is changed. If possible, Photoline should try to keep the original shape as much as it can when points are manually deleted.

One more (last one for now) request: it would be great to have a gradient option that allows us to have the gradient follow the curve, as well as an option to create a gradient that goes across.
This is how illustrator CS6 does it:

Re: Neue Testversion 19.90b5
Hi,
Josef

Yes, I really liked those Illustrator options when I read about them.Herbert123 wrote: it would be great to have a gradient option that allows us to have the gradient follow the curve, as well as an option to create a gradient that goes across.
Although you can more or less get the "across" gradient effect by applying multiple vector attributes to a path, it would be preferable to have those quick and simple options you showed.
That would be a help when illustrating an object that has a round bezel, like some gauges.
