Font choice dialog request:
textdialog.png
The text tool panel displays ALL type family members in one LONG list, and it is quite hard to find and select the members of a specific typeface.
On the other hand, PhotoLine does feature a font picker dialog that splits the choice betweena primary font family list picker and a secondary family member list picker. (See the dialog on the right) This works really well, and is a much better solution compared to the text tool dropdown:
1) Typeface families are shown in the first list, which reduces the number of entries drastically. Much easier to select a main type family.
2) once the main type family is picked, the user only has to deal with its family members. In layout work designers tend to stick to only a few main type families, and work predominantly with the corresponding type members of one or two type familes.
This means it is much faster and efficient to work with a secondary list of family members rather than with one huge font list.
The problem is that this font dialog is modal, and must be closed every single time I use it to pick a specific family member.
My request would be:
Please add a secondary dropdown that displays the members of a main type family in the text tool panel.
A secondary request would be to support all OpenType features by exposing these in the interface somehow (Figure style, stylistic alternatives, figure width, figure position, etc) These are currently not possible to select in PhotoLine.
