Hello,
PL and XNviewMP (1.4.3 64bit) are conflicting.
I am using XNviewMP as browser/cataloger.
In Photoline, if I copy an image layer, PL remains stuck for 15-30 seconds.
After that, I can paste the new layer.
PL does not crash.
It does not happen with copying adjustment layers.
PL versions 23.52, 23.53 and 23.90b8.
Win 10.
Best regards
Phil

Re: PL and XNviewMP conflicting
Launch XNviewMP.
Open an image in PL.
Edit/Copy (or Ctrl C) the image layer.
PL will freeze for 15-30 seconds.

Re: PL and XNviewMP conflicting
I installed XnView 2.51.2 here and tested right now - no problem.

Re: PL and XNviewMP conflicting
The problem I describe is with XNviewMP, not XNview.

I'm running XnView MP 1.4.3 on macOS and can not reproduce the problem...

Re: PL and XNviewMP conflicting
PhotoLine puts different formats on the clipboard. Among them is also the PNG format. XNView MP immediately requests this PNG data, which unfortunately may take a relatively long time to generate.
In our opinion, the fault is therefore rather on the side of XNView, because there is not really a reason to request the data, because it shouldn't need it at this time.
We will speed up the generation of the PNG data a bit, but that is the only thing we can do from our side.

Re: PL and XNviewMP conflicting
I am specially interested in XNview as it reads the .pld files and displays the vignette.
I used also Faststone, but it does not even show the filename ...
In XNview, I can customize the vignette background color.
So when I browse a folder, I can immediately see the jpg/raw files that have been developed in PL
I can launch Pl from the browser.
In addition, XNview takes care of the sidecar files to move/delete them with their main file
Thanks for investigating
Philippe
