Bug? When I turn on "View-->Turn on Layer Frames" the frames are drawn very thick and anti-aliased under circumstances. They should be drawn as thin lines at the screen resolution at all times, in my opinion, and not at the resolution of the document.

Example:

Currently the layer frames activated by "View > Turn on Layer Frames" are drawn along with the layers themselves. This has the advantage that frames in the background are covered by layer in the foreground. But its also has the disadvantage that the frames are drawn in the same resolution as the layers. So if you have activated pixel mode, the frames will be in pixel mode, too.

Alternatively, we could place the frames in front of the layers. Then they would always be one-pixel lines, but with many layers it might be a bit messy.

I think layer frames should be a visual helper, and not be drawn as part of the content at the document's resolution - as you can see, the thick pixel frames look much messier than having thin lines. I work a lot with low resolution assets for games, and the frames get in the way - which is why I tend to turn them off 99% of the time.

Come to think of it, an option in the preferences to just show the frames of the current group may solve the issue as well. Oh wait, it already does that! Forget this.

It could perhaps be useful to add one more option to add a mini-label of the layer's name to each layer frame. That way each frame is easily identified. Or at least display the layer frames with the same colour as the layer label colour for better visual organization.

I will show the layer frames as hair lines and if present the label color will be used.

Sounds as if I will be using the layer frames function and label colours more and more in the future! Really nice! That will improve visual layer organization in complex files quite a lot.

PhotoLine crashed when I saved, and I intended to save a PLD, but early this morning I had saved a DDS file, and the file type was still set to DDS, which I didn't notice. Even though I have PhotoLine set to save a PLD file aside from the file format, it seems PhotoLine first attempted to save that DDS file, crashed, and never got around saving the PLD version.

I lost three hours of work. Now, this is obviously my mistake - I should have saved my file before as a PLD. But I do want to suggest three improvements:

1) save the PLD version FIRST before the other file format is saved. This way, even if PhotoLine crashes due to a file format mismatch of some kind, the PLD version can be restored. The DDS file format choice caused PhotoLine to crash, and if the PLD has been saved first, I would not have lost my work.

2) More importantly, when a NEW file is started, and then saved the first time I DON'T want it to remember the file format from the last save. That makes no sense to me, because a new file more often should be saved as a PLD first. Please change this behaviour. It happened before, and only the fact that I have "Save a PLD file additionally" turned on has it saved my butt many times.

3) Sometimes we get caught in the flow of our creativity, and forget to save for a couple of hours. It would be nice if PhotoLine had an option to turn on an automatic save or rescue option when it crashes and it is loaded up the first time.

I agree with Herbert123 for autosave.

But conventional auto save could slow down the behavior.

Could we save on the fly the "Undo list" as a "redo log" after a crash ?
PL is not the only cause of a crash : W10 night update, electricity failure ...

Also, if the undo list is optionally saved in the normal pld file, it could be reloaded to continue working on your image after a normal PC shutdown.

The following (attached) SVG refuses to open in PhotoLine. It opens without issues in Inkscape.

There is an empty line at the beginning of the file which is quite unusual. We will fix that.

Thanks, I removed the empty line, and it loads up. I did notice the shadow gradient proportions are incorrect as well.
