Is your line a layer?
If so, you can either:
If so, you can either:
- go to the options dialog to "Extended > System"
- activate "Distance"
- enter a distance of 1 inch
- create a new action in the Actions panel ("View > Panels > Actions")
- start recording the action
- copy and paste your layer
- drag the copied layer with the mouse, the distance doesn't matter
- stop recording the action
- open your action in the Actions panel by clicking the triangle
- double click the "Move Layer" action step and enter your distance. You can change units using the context menu of the text fields.

Re: Repeat last command
The line was a vector layer.
"Repeat Last Command" shortcut would have been an easy way to keep copying / pasting the line as many times as needed.
That would be my use of a command like that.
Thanks for the reply.
