Compositing in Photoline

Beitrag von Loadus »

Just wanted to show you guys what Photoline can do. 16-bit processing all the way, combining 8-bit layers.

Fractal + photo composition (Warning, nudity):

_________

Things I noticed while doing this pic

The smudge tool doesn't actually smudge in the way I hoped. The result got blurred pretty badly, when all I wanted to do was to warp/liquify the image with the brush (I need more practice, there might be a tool in the pl32 toolbox that does just that, I just can't find it). I tried to use the shape tools to warp a layer, but couldn't find anything that would warp with splines for a smooth result (distort with arrows was actually pretty cool, I just need to learn it). Also, an option to see the full composition, not just the current layer, in the preview window would be nice - when I'm warping a texture to fit a figure I need to see _where_ to warp, instead going back and forth to the filter.

Not once did Photoline give any trouble, smooth processing all the way.

If this was a review, I'd give 10/10 to Photoline and the team behind it.

Loadus,
that looks damn impressive, spectacular, ... etc .... How long did you work on that ?
And how (in very general terms) are you doing this?

(I hope a more children appropriate version could make it onto the PhotoLine website !!! Would PL example pics not need urgently some replacements?)

Thx muchos. ^^

The work took about 4 hours to complete, with most of it waiting for the computer to finish
the job (I did this with my old celeron pc, so it was a bit pain) - the image size was 3200 x 2400
and in 16-bit.

The image is a compo of 4 different layers (that each had multiple runs with black and white layers),
with 3 fractals from Sterling2 combined with a stock photo from a wonderful photographer
Marcus J. Ranum from deviantart http://mjranum-stock.deviantart.com/.
