Corel AfterShot & particleshop Humble Bundle deal

Beitrag von Herbert123 »

For less than $9 you get both AfterShot 3 for Raw processing and Particleshop, which is compatible with AfterShot. And some other goodies.

Pretty good deal. Has anyone here used AfterShot before? How does it compare to other RAW processors?

Done some research, and the version of AfterShot that is included in this deal is unfortunately NOT the pro version (no HDR, for example).

And comments on one of the photography forums are less than stellar.

Herbert123 many folks have fallen for the non 'pro' version. Corel is a bit sneaky how they promote AfterShot.

I was a long time user of Bibble. Then Corel purchased it and it became know as AfterShotPro. Corel then release a stripped down version called AfterShot. Bibble and early AfterShotPro were excellent converters. It had a large data base of lens and camera specifications. Then somehow Corel broke AfterShotPro. Well at least for me it did. I use Nikon cameras. Well my D7000 images all had a green cast that only AfterShotPro produced. Corel simply told me to 'adjust' the cast!! Why should I? It should have been correct in the first place. I then purchased a D7100. Same issue. So I swapped to Nikon's NX-D. Free and it produces excellent conversions. So AfterShopPro was delisted from my workflow. Pity because of the data base. But I moved on and found NX-D more than capable. Albeit limited. But that's why I use PL.
