vectorshapes in perfect circle

Beitrag von dutchman »

OK, because the place isn't correct, let's discuss the theme here:
http://www.pl32.com/forum3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5369
further on this page.

If I had to make a desision for the problem I would take the following unusual approach.
In order to make a circle with vectorshapes around it in perfect distance to each other, I would do this:

Create a vectorshape(heart), resize it for the desired image and copy it.
Create a circle, open the texttool and make the textline follows the circle.
Don't type in text, but paste the copied vectorshape (in this case 5 times) in the textline.
You can't edit the vectorshape but you can resize the circle.
In the texttool set the kerning to the desired number.
In order to test the exact distances, create a star(vectorshape).
All you have to do now is to trim the distances.
I hope this is an approach for you.
Good luck.

Here's another approach, if you want to experiment with the resulting pattern. In the sample file, just open the group, then the group inside the group, and move/rotate/scale the bottom layer using the layer tool. Took about five minutes to create, and you can replace the image with whatever graphics you want.

If you need only rotational symmetry, then you'd only need one group.

Cheers

Burkhard.

P.S. Turn off visibility for the clipping layers in the inner group to switch off the symmetry lines.

Hi Burkhard... RESPECT! and thanks a lot.
I thought... I know PL very good. Now I am deeply disappointed.

How great is THAT?
I never handled a virtual copy... I will change that immediately.
I have to find out, how you did this one. At the moment it's great magic for me.

This is the moment I was waiting for, for such a long time here in the forum.
Chapeau!

I will try to build a sample... but in a few minutes... I guess not.

Now I've checked how you did this one.
Great idea. Nice effects.
Thanks again.

Or mirrorize a painting/drawing/vector
