3. we good new slider that is not looking like custom control, to be honest I prefer native look - I don't understand what improvement custom look brings here
I prefer the native look, too. IMO, if the custom dark mode is turned off, we should use the standard sliders.

1. panel titlebars no longer have gradient - I have mixed feeling about this one because the gradient in pane titlebar there is still macOS correct and native look, see Shift+Cmd+I in finder, the gradient is still there
I am not sure. I use the flat titlebars here for quite a bit of time, and while it was a bit unfamiliar in the beginning, they no longer attract my attention. And the flat titlebars match the flat tabs better.
ono hat geschrieben: Di 24 Mär 2020 23:012. panel and some other tabs got light blue highlight - this IMHO looks horrible
2 things:
- The light blue looks especially horrible, so I will change the selection color on macOS to the darker blue, that is used in other places of the Mac UI.
- The reception of the selection bar is mixed. I don't know what we will do with them.
ono hat geschrieben: Di 24 Mär 2020 23:01Additionally some tabs like in color picker look very off with their weird thicker font as if text was rendered with some different software.
It's the same font and I don't see the effect here. I will check whether I find something.

Consider replacing blue native rectangular slider handle with orange (inverse) when in dark mode on Windows, same as you do for tab accent line.

Okay I agree since it serves both as title bar and tab bar, making it flat make sense.

Do we really need this accent line on macOS? I don't recall any single native macOS app that have blue accent line over the tab. Safari, Finder they all have grey tabs, so they are close to what Beta 1 was. Also other drawing apps PS and AffPh don't use such thing.

If you really want to try something with color maybe you find inspiration in Apple's Numbers app tool tab bar:

Nevertheless, I'd prefer normal grey tabs, where lighter grey is selected, darker is unselected. So IMHO Beta 1 was really looking fine.

If it helps here's a screenshot where the difference should be more clear - green arrows mark expected/normal font, red is the text on the custom tab control which looks as too bold or rendered with different font AA technique, also central alignment is not correct.

I understand you wanted something for toolbar color selector popup that was looking weird with native tabs, but in dialog like Layer Style I'd prefer regular tabs like these:
Bild

PL v21 was using native tabs there, but for some reason was using very tiny font for it, much smaller than regular as shown above.

P.S. Can you please increase limit of image attachments to 5. I am okay with keeping limits on total dimension and file size, but the attachment limit of 3 makes submitting screenshots for beta testing bit complicated.

I don't like Adjustment layer toolbar with purple tint color.
The color has to be distinguishable from the normal titlebar. What color/brightness value do you propose?

Martin
Perhaps a blue-grey tint?

Why those toolbars should be distinguishable by color? Grey toolbar with title "Adjustment layer" is distinguishable enough. When there is a Adjustment layers stack inside, is distinguishable even better. No need that distracting random color stripe. Same color as tab looks nice and clean. Here is example. (To make it even more distinguishable you can also try to make tab content background slightly lighter than tab itself.)
P.S. I also prefer slightly more height for tabs and Adjustment layer toolbars. Perfectly it could be an option in preferences to select tab height.

While I like the basic approach to the new slider design, the black dots are much too contrast-rich. Here is a reworked version, with the sliders also indicating the value visually.

As you can see UI things looks very different on Windows and Mac. Too many strange surprises due OS and app theme color changes. Developers waste huge amount of time to adjust UI colors and elements layout. Users forced to adjust their OS theme colors to make PhotoLine looks better somehow.
All those problems could be gone if PhotoLine use it's own 100% independent custom theme engine with 3-4 fixed background shades + dark/light icon sets (similar to new Gimp example i posted earlier) https://www.pl32.com/forum3/viewtopic.p ... =15#p46763

Yes, tabs in Layer effects looks strange on Mac, and they may look better if done in native way. But it is not a main problem. Layer effects is odd legacy part of PhotoLine that needs some redesign work.
Controls should be combined in single unified window instead of separation to endless multiple tabs.
Shadow and stroke size is too limited and almost useless for real work. It should be increased to 1000% or 10000% instead of current 100%
Drop shadow is not a real drop shadow. See my old post for details https://www.pl32.com/forum3/viewtopic.p ... 297#p46748

Mir ist eben aufgefallen das der Dialog "Einfache Bildübersicht" nicht richtig funktioniert, genauer das andocken und minimieren.

Hi all,

I noticed some strange noise pattern if a layer is set in 32-Bit and the ICC-Profile has Linear Brightness (Gamma 1.0) enable.

Hi all,

The gradient edit of Blue Circle (both of them actually), the origin of the gradient is not in the center and it should be. Additionally, why the name of this both gradients is "Blue Circle"?

ono hat geschrieben: Mi 25 Mär 2020 14:27Still I would really love to know plans of the authors if there are other controls that are going to be customized, e.g. buttons, combos, are this going to happen only for Windows or macOS too, and if there's still intention to remain close to platform native L&F.
There are currently no plans to customize more controls on macOS. The black mode of the OS should be supported well.

In der nächsten Beta sollten Dialogstapel, die links oder rechts gedockt sind, mit dem Hauptfenster mitsklaiert werden, wenn sie unten mit dem Hauptfenster bündig sind.

Herbert123 hat geschrieben: Mi 25 Mär 2020 21:09With the dark tints used to indicate the main selected layer, some of the layer icons on the right become obscured and can hardly be seen.
This should work better in the next beta.
