beta 108
It is highly recommended to uncheck "Use System Mouse Cursor" in "Preferences -> Working -> Cursor" to improve cursors appearance.
In this version icons and cursors structure in PLD files optimized for 22.90b18 and 23.00rc1. Some icons may display incorrectly in earlier versions of PhotoLine.
In some UI places icons may look blurred because they are aligned to 14/16/18 pixel grid instead of original pixel perfect 15/17/19 grid.
In Windows due problem with cursor transparency, white outline in cursors may generate dark artifacts.

- Slightly improved "Use Adjustment Mask" icon
- "Aquarelle" icon
- other small fixes.

Hi. I feel a little stupid asking this question, but it's second time I try this mod... and didn't understand if and what I should do, after I putted the three .pld files in "~/Library/Preferences/PhotoLine/Help/".
I unchecked even "Use System Mouse Cursor", restarted PhotoLine, but can't see new icons in user interface, and can't see a new option in "Preferences -> Display -> User Interface -> Icons".
Where's the trick?!

Unfortunately there is no special name for custom icon set in "Preferences -> Display -> User Interface -> Icons". It just replaces original default icons set. Just use "Color" or "Color less Saturation" from menu.
Also make sure you use the newest version from https://www.dropbox.com/sh/0j8rup57vaar ... yBVUa?dl=0

beta 112
- Added "README.rtf" file with installation instructions
- Added "PL to PS Keyboard Layout.xml" Photoshop-like keyboard layout for some tools, filters, fullscreen mode, rulers, show/hide panels and so on... It is far from perfect but anyway it may be nice starting point for further modification. Make sure you backup your original keyboard layout (Preferences -> Usage -> Keyboard Layout -> Save...) before import this one.

I don't understand... I tried again with beta 112.1, but I don't see any difference in PhotoLine icons (I specify that I have changed the type of icons and that I have closed and reopened PhotoLine several times). Could it be another Catalina's fault?

I use and test things on macOS 10.14.6. Your setup is correct. This problem looks really strange. Hope PhotoLine developers be able explain something...
Just a crazy guess - maybe problem could be somehow related to Italian system language? Maybe those .pld files needs to be renamed somehow to in Italian as well?

I had your same guess, and even before I tried to start PhotoLine in english trough an old automator workflow that let start any application in english (instead of system Language). After your tip, I tried to change system language restarting my Mac too... but icons won't change.
P.S.: Changing PhoLine icons is not really important for me, it's more a curiosity and let you know there are this kind of behaviour. If you think it isn't worth, didn't spend your time on this.

I also just curios what could be a source of this problem. Maybe some permissions are missing? or "file downloaded form internet" tag and so OS with security restrictions don't allow to use external icons file? It is possible to disable quarantine for downloaded apps in Terminal:

Code: Select all

sudo defaults write com.apple.LaunchServices LSQuarantine -bool NO
Or maybe it is some bug in PhotoLine itself...

This didn't seem to play any role... I tried to open the three .pld files with "right click -> open" too, but as before, nothing to do.
P.S. They open in PhotoLine as normal .pld files, without any problem

Hi. I did some more tries, and discovered that the behaviour is related to two folders I fond inside my PhotoLine application folder. This folders are named "PhotoLineSettings" and "UserSettings".
https://www.dropbox.com/s/lx0es4dm09ije ... 7.png?dl=0
In any PhotoLine Upgrade, I drag all files in PhotoLine.zip archive over PhotoLine application folder, to hold there Italian manual, and any other file/folder I decided to hold there... but really I can't figure how the tow folders above went in PhotoLine application folder.
My last PhotoLine upgrades was PL19.51 -> PL23.00 -> PL23.01
Removing the two folder "unserialised" my PhotoLine 23, but even after entering newly serial number in PhotoLine through his menu, the folders didn't be created by PhotoLine anymore in Application folder. And PhotoLine works normally as registered software.
Another strange thing is that only removing both folders, makes PhotoLine use your icons. Now after I serialised again PhotoLine without this folders, removing both folders don't need a new serialisation. And serialisation isn't required if I put back both this folder again in PhotoLine application folder (with it's previous continents). If I put back only "PhotoLineSettings", PhotoLine asks again for registration.
So, I saw your icon set... and even some of them could be familiar (my last PhotoShop was PhotoShop Elements 2.0), I've gotten used with PhotoLine icons now. But if you, ore someone of PhotoLine developers want to give a look inside this folders, I'll send you a copy of them.

And after I wrote the post above, I got another stroke of genius: I copied your .pld files in the Help folders that are present in both the above folders. Coping them in "PhotoLineSettings/Help" won't have any effect, but coping them in "UserSettings/Help", makes PhotoLine use them as standard icons set.

Ouch, you installed app in wrong way. Same confused problem was noticed by other users few times when some other tings stop working due incorrect placement or PhotoLine.app.
 Path should be /Applications/PhotoLine.app

Partially this is developer's fault because they provide macOS installation archived in structure like this, and new users drop all PhotoLine folder to Applications instead of single PhotoLine.app.
From other point of view, if icons it works from PhotoLine folder, so maybe it was the the original idea? If it works like this, why point all manuals to "User" folder? Another multiple options conflict situation...
