Hi,
this is my first post.
I would like to print poems on A4 or A3 paper with a darker decent oriental, ancient Indian background in "gold" colour.
Does anyone have any practical experience with this? I mean between prepared graphics and result from printer on some fine paper.
I see some examples here, but this font size is too big - https://www.photopea.com/templates/t-rwtQdtQ6.
I played with it but the small size lost its charm.
I would like the font size to be around 15 to 20 mm.
Is something like this possible in PhotoLine? Thank you.

No practical experience in printing such things, but once I was close.
There's metallic foil for cutting plotters, and also some transfer paper to keep everything in place after cutting. Once we wanted to try that here, but in the end somehow we lost interest. That would be a way to have REAL gold color, but we wanted to do that bigger than just 20mm.
Or do you want to do normal photo printing, and wonder if you can make text with such nice gold effect in PL?

That Photopea is cool, you can check that file like it was in a real program!
I made this experiment before I checked how they did it. The gernal idea is similar: Mostly some relief effect to turn flat text into something with "depth", then play until it looks metallic. They overlayed 2 layers with different relief effects, I used the PL equivalent with 4 light sources, and some additional layers to make it metal.

That's a pretty simple gold lettering effect in Photopea. With a bit of effort a more realistic looking effect can be achieved with PhotoLine's layer effects.
Here is the PLD file. Open the placeholder to change the text (the lowest text layer) and all the other layers will update automatically.

The font for this example is available for free here:

Install my PhotoLine assets pack to access a large number of gold and metal gradients.

Gold metallic in many variants with PL. Metallic colors are perceived and interpreted in a very special way, that means they can be harsh or soft, have a horizon (i.e. in images with chrome plated exhaust pipes) or an environment, a direction… In any case, the metallic surface should be clear and clean.

This one is for a chrome reflection, that means with an environment. A quick an dirty setup, far from being perfect.

Re: Finest golden text for a longer poem?
This could be done with simple Inner Emboss Layer Style.
With Special Emboss you will have more options and multiple light sources, but same time it will be more complex to control all these parameters.
Note that some effects in PhotoLine Layer Styles are still 8-bit only, so large sized areas could be not accurate and have some banding. Problem described here https://www.pl32.com/forum3/viewtopic.p ... 401#p52401 So for layer styles i recommend to use last beta version, because it have many bugfixes and improvements in Layer Styles.

If you add a smite of shadow inside with another gold gradient set to multiply it adds a little extra depth to the gold effect.
Cheers!
