ha, ha! I posted about the High Pass filter revelation (for me) in DPRevew's micro 4/3 forum and got some interesting responses, including one guy who said he has been using P'shop since v.3 and had never discovered the High Pass filter. So that makes two boobies!
No takers for PhotoLine, though, it would appear, despite a fairly blatant ad.

One more tip: when down-scaling your images, make sure to use CatmulRom resampling. It yields the best sharp-looking results, and retains details the most.
