Keine Ahnung.
 You sound like a 20 year old Youtuber now! Und mit perfekter Te-Fau-Aussprache!

Funny :)

Only few know how much you have to know to know how little you know.

With the new brush preview turned on (which I basically have to, because otherwise I also lose the traditional brush preview for the copy brush), it looks like any transparency effects resulting from a layer mask now get applied not just to the brush preview, but also to the brush outline as long as you're only hovering the cursor over the picture and not actually painting.

When looking at the layer mask itself (i.e. Alt + Click on the layer mask), this leads to a definite bug, in that the brush outline is no longer visible in that mode at all while hovering the cursor.

However even during normal image display, this leads to the behaviour that the brush outline disappears when hovering the cursor over a part of the image clipped by the layer mask. (And when looking to paint on the layer mask itself with a soft brush, depending on whether you're adding or removing transparency either the inner or outer outline disappears likewise because it's affected by the transparency preview.) My preference would be for the outline to always remain fully visible (when enabled in the first place, of course), no matter whether you're just hovering or actually painting.

This should work better in 24.40B17.
