[Idea] Use Gradient as a Brush to paint in true 16-bit

Currently if we select Gradient as a Brush Color, it creates gradient same size as document and brush paints like a mask above this gradient. This feels like ok behave for patterns and textures, but not too useful for gradient.
The good thing is that gradient painted like this remains in true 16-bit:

It could be more useful to have some setting to automatically adjust gradient to the size of a brush circle, like this. In this case we can control brush softness using Gradient and possibly paint in true 16-bit:
