I've mentioned this in the Blender thread as well: PhotoLine really prefers physical RAM more than anything else. Virtual memory management is managed by the OS. That is different compared to Photoshop.

My previous machine had 48GB of memory, but the work I do kept hitting that limit. I now have 128GB RAM, and hardly ever hit any memory ceilings. That is, I sometimes do with Blender and other 3d apps, and once or twice in PhotoLine opening very large astronomical images.

This is really both a wonderful and frustrating thing about PL. Everything is possible. Not everything possible is documented in an approachable way.

I try things, get frustrated and fall back to PS.

And nowadays a current 32bit version of Photoshop doesn't exist anymore (I believe).
