PhotoLine and big (.psd) images?

I fond that PhotoLine has some trouble opening a big .psd file (1.29Gb - 9000x7684 pixel) even in 64 bit mode. The same image, result of Artlants 3 render, can be opened in GraphicConverter and in Pixelmator (both 32bit) but if I try to open it with Photoline (15.5.1), the program hangs.

It's a document with 4 maskered layers. After some try, I found that opening and saving it (ever in .psd) with "The Gimp", reduce the file size to about 500Mb, apparently without loosing anything. After that the file can be handled with PhotoLine.
GraphicConverter wasn't useful in this case, because it marges all layer on file opening, and Pixelmator crashes on file saving (tried to save as .psd and even as pixelmator document).
In this moment I get another little trouble with PhotoLine (It's a recurring trouble): certain .pdf files that are a single 300dpi b&w raster file, open corrupted in PhotoLine. The same file can be opened well in Adobe Reader, Apple Preview or GraphicConverter, and are common files here in Italy because they come from public land registry (I don't know exactly how to translate it). While this file are not so big, I'd like to send one of them, in the hope you can fix the problem (someday), but I can't upload it (PDF not allowed).

This PDF file will be imported correctly in the next version of PhotoLine.

But back to the original PSD problem: is this the only PSD file you can't import in PhotoLine? Can you create a smaller version of your file and import that in PhotoLine?

Seems not: i tried to render smaller images but all they open without problems. And after saved with "The Gimp" I trashed original one. A new render with the same size (1.29Gb) can be a problem to send trough ADSL... I'll think how to send you this kind of monster shortly when I render another "yard worksite poster" (if it hangs PhotoLine opening it). Could be we have a new connection with a beter upload in or office.

this won't solve the problem because our ADSL is very slow here and I can't download such big files. The only way would be to send a DVD to Computerinsel.

So it's not only our problem... I thought in other European nation there wasn't such problems. For a little comparison, wath are your speed? At home I have a 7000/384 (download/upload) and works pretty well, in our office we should have the same speed (with the same provider) but really it works 1500/100 in best case. Now with a new provider, we should go to 4000/512, and just yesterday the Technical has measured the new line to be capable of 5000/640 (good promising )

We are in a small town too...

I'll ask for another future I can't find in Photoline: I need a grass brush. Is there a way to edit Photoline brushes to have a sort of tuft grass? Some people said they use this kind of brush to add grass to this rendering (original one the grass was a pretty flat texture), and I'd like to do the same on other images (with PhotoLine, if possibile).
I think it can be a useful future to can create personalized brushes starting from b&w image...

You can turn a whole layer or a selection into a brush, but you can only change the size of these brushes afterwards.

To copy a layer into a brush just choose the layer tool (the black arrow) and drag the layer into the field for the brush. Take care that movement of the layer is not locked, it usually is locked for the background layer. Hold ALT for locked layers (or just always hold ALT).

Using selections is not much different. Choose the lasso-tool, turn off the option "move without contend" and drag the selection into the brush.

Is this explained in some place of the on-line help? I'd like to save some of this brushes, but I can't find how to do.

I have found a description how to create own brushes from complete layers in 3.3.3, that is "Basics of Photoline > User Interface Elements > The brush field".
For loading and saving you need the complete brush list: "View > Lists > brush list". It has a context-menu, there you can load, save, duplicate... and select from different brush lists.

At this point, I ask if PhotoLine has another little future that someone said to me he uses to retouch renderings (with Photoshop): if I understood right, the brush can rotate and scale up and down, to make some retouch less visible. It's not a must, but since every thing I thought PhotoLine can't do, after all it did...
