Your suggestions definitely look better. However, I wonder if they actually work better. In particular, I would vote against making sliders even shorther than they are. Sometimes, they are already pretty difficult to use.

If you find sliders too short, you can always make tool settings pane wider, it does resize and makes sliders longer, at least when it is docked together with layers pane. Unfortunately you can't make those panes' TINY FONTS BIGGER in current PL version, argh.

Besides, I'd be interested to see what you'd suggest for the text tool settings - which are also supposed to fit into the same window.

Well I don't really want to provide new layout mockups for every pane, since I am not sure anyway they will be considered for next releases. But I don't see any problem with Text tool settings, as most of the UI is icons based (and those are OK) just few are textual, and there's still space to make them bigger 11pt, at least in English UI.

I also agree with most of your suggestions about the Web export pane, except that I wouldn't make the section labelled "Export settings" look like the "GIF settings" - if both (or all three, if you open the larger pane) columns are visually similar, you are visually lead to the assumption that all columns work in the same way -- while the left column contains settings relevant to the other (two). Besides, conceptually, "Action" belongs to the export settings - the action is only applied to the exported image.

Well, having this "Export Settings" group was just an suggestion, so it looks more visually consistent, but I don't really care about that. Having normal (Export...) button and make Return trigger center pane export is what I do care here.

Yeah the icon is a bit too dark, I'll see what i can do.

As regards the improved layouts -- I like the new designs, but my real problem with photo line right now is with it's underlying functionality. A lot of the layer effects are very second rate.

Just wanted to share the news that new 16.40b6 has new revised WebExport window, my wishes came true. Now we got regular export buttons activated with Return, moreover it does image calculation is background, so no more delay when opening export. I take back all I suggested in this thread. PL's developers indeed read this forum and consider all our suggestions especially those viable.

Ich spreche nicht Deutsche. I took German in college many years ago, have never had the opportunity to use it, thus have forgotten most of what I learned. I guess I'll wait with the rest of PL users for the next release.
