Responsiveness of the v16.11 gamma spines

Hello,

I've noticed that, while the curves modal window (ctrl+m) shows up much quicker in the latest release of PL, compared to the v16.0 the responsiveness of the spline is now slower. More precisely on a low end notebook/netbook like my Thinkpad X100e there's a 1 second circa lag between when I move a set anchor point and the screen refresh (8MP each image, both for 8 and 16 bit per channel). This is annoying.

Does it happen to anyone else? Could the author fix this Issue?

I'm editing an 18Mpx (5202 x 3465) image and getting about 0.2 sec lag when moving a curve node (preview on). And this is on Linux (through WINE) - might be even faster on the Windows side. Seems fine here.

Well, I couldn't find a difference between version 16.00 and the current version 16.11.

Basically, the delay of the preview depends on the duration of the calculation (and therefore on the speed of the computer) in order to allow modifying values without lagging.

According to http://netbooked.net/netbook-reviews/re ... 0e-review/, your notebook is quite slow when running on battery. Are you sure you compared 16.00 and 16.11 using the same power supply?

Moreover, the update delay seems to depend on the preview and document window sizes (if preview is on), so have you used the same window size(s) in both cases?

Did you use Curves with the same picture? Do they consist of just a single layer? Adjusting a Curves layer while there are additional adjustment layers on top of it may also slow down the preview.

Hello, Yes the image used to compare the two PL releases is obviously the same: exactly an 8MP (3268x2452) 16 bit per channel .tiff file. The computer was plugged (full power mode) even also without the battery pack attached, with the full screen image preview but the curves preview closed. The image is a single layer one with no adjustment layers at all.

I've now reinstalled v16 and the screen refresh has come back to almost real time.
