Help with lasso

When I make a lasso with a particular aspect ratio, and size it, when it gets close to the edge of the photo, it jumps. How do I turn off this "jumping"?

The edges of a document are "magnetic", they behave as if they were additional guides (this is a feature which I requested some time ago to make it easier to "hit the border exactly" when selecting"). You can disable this behaviour globally by switching off "align to guide" in the View menu, under "Align to guides". Or, to disable this only temporarily, hold the Alt key while selecting close to the edge.

OR rather than change your prefs and lose functionality (I love sticky guides) you can:

* Drag a guideline to where you want the lasso edge near the window edge before drawing your lasso -- the edge of the lasso will then stick to the guideline rather than be pulled over to the window edge.

* Draw the lasso, allowing it to stick to the window edge, then move it away the required distance using the arrow keys.
