Re: Compatibility with tiger
Sorry, but since tiger is not ready yet, we didn't test it.Pékélé hat geschrieben:does the actual version 11.51 is fully supported under tiger ?

Version 11.52 starts up in Mac OS X 10.4.1 ("Tiger"
...the apps performance and response times are strongly degraded compared to Mac OS X 10.3.x.
Efficient working is nearly impossible.
Sorry to say that, but the changes in "Tiger" seem to effect to PhotoLine in a bad way...
Hopefully we'll see a fix in the near future...

I can't confirm this. Performance seems to be fine here.

I found the reason for the slow downs: Color management was activated in PhotoLines preferences, and the in Mac OS 10.3.x created ColorSync profile was not transferred during upgrade to Mac OS X 10.4.x, so PhotoLine faced a slow down because it searched for a profile, that was not available anymore.
After switching to a proper ColorSync profile PhotoLine is working well under "Tiger", too.
Sorry, my postings were not meant to cause confusion here.

Hot bulletin. If people are experiencing a slow down in tiger or an unexplainable increase CPU heating and use it is an issue with spotlight and adobe. Adobe uses funky font lists that get installed initially with the app. If these lists refer to fonts that are not installed it will cause spotlight to go crazy and use up to 75 percent of the CPU as it has a fit.
To fix you go to the library and application support and find the adobe folder. There will be folders called fonts and typespt. Delete the contents of each (not the folders). The do the following in a terminal:
sudo mdutil -E <enter>
the mdutil is a commandline process that manages the metadata (that spotlight gathers). the -E removes all the indexes and the spotlight will then rebuilding them. You will notice a much faster and cooler (temperature wise) system.
This saved my, often tenuous, sanity ...

Even more spotlight wierdness:
News readers that decode binaries by downloading the file as a temp file are causing the same type of Spotlight pain. Currenly the following uses this method:
Thoth (which sucks as it is my favorite and is not being actively developed)
Newshunter
Unison, Mtnewswatcher 3.2, and MacSOUP are unaffected ...
