Brush keyboard shortcuts?

Hi,

I love the power of Photoline, but find the layout, user manual and functionality confusing. I have already ditched Photoshop because of the high price and massive size. (I used PS for years and am more familiar with it than any other editor.) I currently use both PL and Gimp. One of the things that I am struggling with in PL is a simple way to change brush settings. I just figured out that I can change brush size with the up and down arrows and would love to find a similar setting for brush edge softness/hardness. I have dug through the keyboard shortcut menu with no luck. I know that you can use the brush editor to change the inner and outer radius, but that process is long and arduous if you just want to tweak this setting. Gimp has a little window which automatically appears with the information which is less convenient than a keyboard shortcut, but better than having to deal with a brush menu. This brings my two related questions:

1. Is there a keyboard shortcut for brush softness or a way to create one?
2. If not, is there a way to have a paintbrush settings window appear like in Gimp? (vs having to manually open and use the brush editor.)

You can hold down ALT an move the mouse to the left and right to adjust the outer size of the brush.
To change the inner size of the brush you have to hold Alt+Shift, then move the mouse.

You can open an all-time brush editor with "view < lists > brush list", then select the edit-tab.

Shift-Arrow up/down changes the softness.

2. If not, is there a way to have a paintbrush settings window appear like in Gimp? (vs having to manually open and use the brush editor.)

I don't know how GIMP works, but if you double-click on the "active brush" icon (which shows brush size, shape and softness, not the brush tool), then you get a settings window.
