I'm hoping this works.

I've attached a collection of 4 actions that I find handy for Photographic image enhancement.

I'm new to PhotoLine so I may not have used the most efficient methods but I am hoping they will work for you as well as they do for me.


Dodge and Burn Layer: Sets up a layer which you can paint on to darken or lighten the image locally. Black makes it darker and white makes it lighter. Use soft brushes and keep the colour opacity low. Build up the effect with multiple brush strokes.

Saturation Adjustment: This works in a similar way but brushing with a saturated colour increases local saturation and grey reduces saturation. Again, use soft brushes and keep the colour opacity low. Build up the effect with multiple brush strokes.

Colour Modification: Another painting layer but this time for adjusting the colour balance. I've set it up with a warm shade in the Foreground palette and a cool one in the Background palette but you could change the colours for your own needs.

Colour Luminosity Layer: A useful twist on the Grey mixer layer. Set to luminosity it allows you to adjust the brightness of colours individually. I find it useful for all sorts of things but try it out on a blue sky for example.

Thanks Juan, These are some of my standard tools in PS so I wanted to set them up straight away in PhotoLine too.

A lot of the tools I use for my landscape work are quite subtle which is why they are set up for multiple brush strokes.

It's also been a great way to get to know the new interface as well.

A few more actions for anyone that can use them.

These are all for mono conversions although the Mid Tone Contrast layer can be useful for colour shots as well.

The first three are my standard Monochrome Conversions set for Cool, Neutral and Warm tinted results. You can of course change the tint easily yourself by changing the fill colour but darker colours tend to give the best results.

The fourth action creates a Mid Tone Contrast layer (which is already applied in the Mono Conversions) to give a little bit more punch to the mid tones. You can vary the effect by altering the layer intensity if needed.

Another one for you.

This is a set of actions that adjust the Colour Filter to target your adjustment layers on tonal ranges based upon Ansel Adams' Zone System.

Zone O is deepest darkest shadows and Zone X is brightest highlights. In practice, for smooth transitions, the Zones have to overlap a bit and more often than not it is the double and triple zones that give best results but I find them a useful set of tools.
