Moving a Vector object in Actions

Ok... I'm coming back at this because the actions that I thought I had sussed are not quite working as I thought.

What I need now is a way of setting the action to select a particular shape from the list.

When I tested the actions before they seemed to work but that was only because they had retained the selection from when I was setting them up...

So how do I force an action to pick the signature shape?

I don't know of a way of inserting a shape into a document directly. The two workarounds I can think of are

• if your signature is just a vector layer, you can create a lasso from it using "Form lasso …". Then convert the lasso into a vector layer and set line style and colour and fill colour.

• if it's more complicated, then save it as a .pld document and use "Load layer …".

Saving it as a document seems to work OK, thanks for that Burkhard.

Seems odd that it needs a workaround though. I thought once I saved it as a shape it would be easy to set up in an action.

Another thing for the wish list I guess.
