Interface Color Scheme Needs More Work
Results of my tests with changes in Options: Activate Black Mode (checked); Background Color Slide set to 0; Icons Gray, Large.
1. Here's a reduced screen cap of the right half of the interface.
All Black, no image.jpg
2. Here's what happens to the same area when an image is loaded into PL. The interface adopts the orange tone from the loaded image.
All Black, Image loaded.jpg
3. Now, here the Options window with the image loaded.

Looking at other programs using this darker background approach, the best appear to use a very dark gray background across the entire interface with line-drawing icons that are white or very light gray. Often the emphasis is on the use of text buttons with very few icons.
Personally, I love editing images on a dark background. I hope additional tweaks of PL will result in an option for a pleasing, non-distracting contrast between background color and icons/text in the work environment.
