Bug report: cannot set resolution in an action
The last step of one of my actions is to set the resolution of the flattened layer. It works fine, until I quit PL and start it again, when I get a error that "An object of the type "SetResolutionAction" couldn't be read." And the specific resolution step is no longer in the action, so I cannot delete the step. This error now comes up every time I start PL.
This happens whether I open PL with an image, or without an image.

Yes, this problem is reproducible. We will fix that.asharpe hat geschrieben:The last step of one of my actions is to set the resolution of the flattened layer. It works fine, until I quit PL and start it again, when I get a error that "An object of the type "SetResolutionAction" couldn't be read."
It should be sufficient, to uncheck and recheck any action. This way PhotoLine will save the actions on exit and the error message will disappear, though the "Set Resolution" step will be gone.asharpe hat geschrieben:And the specific resolution step is no longer in the action, so I cannot delete the step. Re: Bug report: cannot set resolution in an action
Thanks, I appreciate it. Is there any way to set the default resolution, as a workaround?

Re: Bug report: cannot set resolution in an action
Images which don't have resolution information will have the display resolution (which can be set under Preferences -> Display -> Screen Resolution).asharpe hat geschrieben:Thanks, I appreciate it. Is there any way to set the default resolution, as a workaround?
However, if the image already has resolution information, that resolution is used by PL.
Btw., the problem with "SetResolution" has been fixed in the latest beta, so you might want to use that (PL betas usually are very stable).
Cheers
Burkhard.

Thank you! I don't mind being a beta tester; I've done it all of my life (35 years as an operating system software engineer).

The latest beta for the mac is corrupt. I downloaded it twice, and overwrote 18.01 before I realized that it was corrupt.bkh hat geschrieben: Btw., the problem with "SetResolution" has been fixed in the latest beta, so you might want to use that (PL betas usually are very stable).

Not really corrupt, just doesn't bypass Apple's default security checks (see my answer in the beta testers forum how to work around this – it's the kind of problem that tend to happen with betas).asharpe hat geschrieben:The latest beta for the mac is corrupt. No, sorry, I know about the security checks. "Photoline.app is damaged" is the message I get. What you are talking about is completely different.

Re: Bug report: cannot set resolution in an action
Since 1840b4 was corrupt, I tried 1840b3 (on a whim, I changed the 4 to a 3 in the url, and it worked). This version seems to have fixed this specific resolution error bug. Thanks!

No, it's just a new security check and a new message. I had the same "problem" when installing the new beta (other German speaking beta testers as well). Temporarily disabling Gatekeeper resolves the issue.asharpe hat geschrieben:No, sorry, I know about the security checks. "Photoline.app is damaged" is the message I get. Really? Well, that's one on me. Let me try it... hah! You are absolutely correct. The b4 binary works if I set the preferences to allow apps from anywhere. Well, you know what they say, crow tastes best when warm. Thanks for your patience with me.bkh hat geschrieben:No, it's just a new security check and a new message. Re: Bug report: cannot set resolution in an action
Sorry for the oblique reference. In the US, "eating crow" means admitting you were wrong. The reference to warm means that usually, the earlier you admit you were wrong, the better!Hoogo hat geschrieben:That's a funny pictureasharpe hat geschrieben:...crow tastes best when warm...But what does it mean?
