Document describing the PLD format

Now that I have decided to use PhotoLine for my work, I would feel more comfortable if I understood the PLD file format. As a programmer, if a file became corrupt, I might be able to salvage data from it with this knowledge. Also, if something happened to the PhotoLine product at some point (hopefully, never), I might be able to construct a converter of the PLD format to another format.

As it is, I keep the RAW file, the PLD file, a 16bit TIFF file, and a 1000px/side jpg for every photograph I process. The TIFF is the final product, and the one I print from, but it does not have the layers and structures that the PLD file has.

So, is there a document that describes the PLD format, in some detail?
