For photographers looking at PhotoLine as an external editor to integrate with Lightroom, there's a great Lightroom plugin available, making it possible to create a thumbnail, link to and metadata for the native PhotoLine PLD file within Lightroom. You can also launch that file in PhotoLine from Lightroom for easy editing at a later time.
The plugin is called Any File -- from John R. Ellis at http://www.johnrellis.com/lightroom/anyfile.htm.
There's a 30-day free trial, and if you like it, buy a license for whatever price you think is fair.
Any File uses the thumbnail embedded in the PLD to create the visual representation in Lightroom's library. If you choose to do so on import, a big "AF" is stamped on the proxy jpeg created in the Lightroom catalog to distinguish it from other representations of the same image.
In my opinion, this third-party option for Lightroom makes PhotoLine more appealing to both enthusiast and professional photographers using Lightroom for raw conversion and management of their digital images.
Any File works with other image formats, too.

Re: PhotoLine and Lightroom
Thanks Bob,
nice hint, I will have a closer look. Certianly it is only required because of LRs pretty limited native support of file types.

Re: PhotoLine and Lightroom
Does this work in Lightroom 5? I notice the screenshots are for version 3.

The answer is yes.cjrobe hat geschrieben:Does this work in Lightroom 5? I notice the screenshots are for version 3.
The screenshots are from either ver 4 or 5. I never had version 3.

Guess it hasn't been updated in a while. Glad to hear it still works.
