File...Open does not see RAW images

Is there any reason why the File...Open dialog does not display RAW images (specifically .RW2 images) to open for editing?

As it is, I'm forced to use the "Browse" thingy. Consider this as a Feature Request to allow opening RAW images directly from the File...Open dialog.

Do they really not open, or are they just missing in the file filter list?
I remember that there is a restriction in the number of allowed endings in that list.

Works here (at least with .NEF files) – maybe it doesn't recognise the .rw2 extension. Have you tried the "All files" setting in the Open dialogue? (I don't use the Open dialogue very much – I rather drag and drop the files on the PL icon – does that work for you)?

Hoogo is right, on Windows there is a limitation on the file type list. "All picture files" has so much endings, that we had to remove some.
If you select "Camera files" or "All files" it will be shown.
I don't use the open dialog, like bkh. There are so much ways to open images, the open dialog is not the best one.

Aha! "All files *" shows the .RW2 files in the list. Thanks for the tip, guys.

Change my Feature Request to include ".rw2" files in the "Digital Camera RAW image" item, then.
