- In the Gradient Editor, an option to specify the number of times to repeat the gradient. (Old request....)
- When applying a gradient to a vector line, I'd really like to have the options available in Adobe Illustrator:
- The current method, which applies the gradient across the entire vector line, ignoring the direction of the line.
- An option to apply the gradient along the line, following the line's direction.
- An option to apply the gradient across the line, which would have the gradient applied across the line's width.

Vector lines with variable widths
Is there the possibility for vector lines to have variable widths? In other words, a vector line would have user-defined "width points" to manipulate the thick and thin sections of the line.

Re: Vector lines with variable widths
+1 Yes, that would be awesome. As far as I am aware: no, there exists no such option in Photoline.photoken hat geschrieben:Is there the possibility for vector lines to have variable widths? Create HDR-Image alignment needs improving
The alignment of images in the Create HDR-Image filter is slightly off.
For example, the two original images are .RW2, taken on a tripod, at ISO=80, 50mm (equivalent) focal length, and the camera's auto bracket set to +1EV and -1EV. Both RAW images had the same processing profile applied in RawTherapee and were exported as uncompressed 16-bit TIF images.
The sample area showing the slight misalignment in PL is shown here: The PL alignment (at 100%) looks like this: You can see an ever-so-slight misalignment.
For comparison, the same two TIF images were processed by LuminanceHDR, which uses the Hugin software to align the images (also at 100%):

Anti-ghosting in Create HDR-Image
PL's Create HDR-Image would greatly benefit from an anti-ghosting tool, either automatic or manual (preferably both).

Re: Create HDR-Image alignment needs improving
OK, further experimentation led me to the cause (and a solution) for the slight misalignment.photoken hat geschrieben:The alignment of images in the Create HDR-Image filter is slightly off.
The reference images were taken on a windy day, so there is a lot of movement in the branches of the large tree in the foreground. This movement appears to throw off some alignment algorithms.
I tested this using PaintShopPro X6. It has two settings for the automatic image alignment tool:
- Feature alignment.
- (Image) Edge alignment.
So, to accommodate scenarios like this, PL should offer an "(image) edge" alignment option, as well as its current method.

Re: Feature Requests
Hi all,
There is a really nice feature present on video editors (Hitfilm, after effects...) that is change the "resolution" of the layer (Quarter, Half and Full) in order to speed up the redraw when performing some tasks, if there is some modifications that require too much computing you set that layer to low res.
So I was thinking how feasible is to add this kind of feature on PL?
In post production (I bet in some other cases) you need to work with really big layers 5000x5000 at 32 bit and at the moment to use some tools (for example the using the distort with vector path tool) it doesn´t provide a smooth editing, so setting that current layer to a temporary quarter resolution will speed up the redraw and make this kind of operations smoother.
What you guys think?
Cheers
Juan

Re: Feature Requests
I tried that long ago when I was still using a 700MHz-Duron, and the speedup was surprisingly low. I think the problem is more about the screen resolution than the layer resolution, but better test yourself by scaling a whole document.

Re: Feature Requests
I will try to do the same with a reduced document and I will update here.
Did you know that the placeholder layer use a "low quality" display to perform a faster redraw until you convert that placeholder into a normal layer or a flatten image, so why not to bring this feature to the layers properties as well?
Cheers,
Juan

No, I didn't. I've been quite lazy lately, I really already forgot about the placeholder.Juan hat geschrieben:Did you know that the placeholder layer use a "low quality" display to perform a faster redraw until you convert that placeholder into a normal layer or a flatten image...

Re: Feature Requests
Hi,
I would love to have the ability to pan the view with more freedom. Currently if you move a layer so that it is out of the canvas border and you want to move the layer's manipulators you have to zoom all the way out but than the manipulators are very small and not precise. It would be great if the actual viewable area would be at least 3x wider and higher than the canvas size at all zoom levels (or better unlimited

Re: Feature Requests
You can set the margin outside the document/picture itself under Preferences -> Display -> Document. (The area can't be unlimited because you may want to use the scrollbars to get there.) If I understand "3x wider" correctly, you'll have to set "Edge Width" to 100% (add the canvas size on each side).Qwerty hat geschrieben:Hi,

This works up to a point: when working with multiple pages with different sizes and proportions switching between them forces the user to refocus again and again.bkh hat geschrieben:You can set the margin outside the document/picture itself under Preferences -> Display -> Document.
