I realize that, but it's a workaround for something that ought to be (and can be) simpler, in my opinion. And what if I wanted to have access to the soft edge option? I would still have to add that bitmap layer (or try to find one in the layer stack, and with hundreds of layers that can become a chore), and select that first, because the lasso tools remain unavailable. It is a bit of a workflow killer wheneber the user needs to convert part of a bunch of vector layers to a bitmap.photoken hat geschrieben:You can draw a vector shape for your proposed selection and use Tool...Lasso...Convert Layer to Lasso.Herbert123 hat geschrieben:Another thing that drives me crazy sometimes is that the lasso tools are unavailable for those type of layers. Often I need to create a merged copy of part of the canvas that only consists of vector layers, and the selection tools remain unavailable then. Only by adding an arbitrary /temporary bitmap layer and selecting that can we force Photoline to display the selection tools.
Not a huge inconvenience, but still somewhat awkward.
Nor can we use tools like automask while working with non-bitmap layers, while we ARE allowed to convert a shape's channel to a selection. That seems inconsistent to me. Regularly I am forced to convert shapes to bitmap layers first (after duplicating them first), then use automask to generate the lasso, and then I delete those dummy layers again. It makes for a very convoluted workflow, and I do not see any reason why those lasso tools couldn't be made available for non-bitmap layers.
