RAW - Light & Shadow issue

Beitrag von sovereign »

Hi,

I think the adjustment light & shadow over the background level when opening a raw file doesn't work properly.
A small regulation push the colors in a weird way.
The same regulation made through adjustment layer works properly.

Anyone has noticed the same ?

Attached an example.

In this case I changed the width slider in the shadows by 0,1 % (!!!)

There's a child layer with the adjustment "channel mixer" applied to the raw.
What happens when you disable it or move it to the top of the layer stack?

Next idea:
The adjustment layer that is created when opening a raw is just like any other adjustment layer with more than one adjustment.

Light & shadow is among many other adjustments. When I open a .dng, the only enabled adjustment is the histogram correction. Did you enable some more of those beneath the Light & shadow?
You can grab the titlebars of the adjustments and drag them around in the list. Do things get better when you move Light & shadow to the bottom or the top of the list?

I think I understood ..

Light & Shadow is initially disabled, but for some reason the default values are very far from zero.
When I clicked on the slider suddenly it has been activated, and the result has been shown.
What was wrong was the initial setup.
