Alternativo amended
I have adjusted Photoline's description on Alternativo.net, and I also added a nicer screenshot. The old screenshot looked quite... unprofessional. It was accepted today, and replaces the old one.

Don't forget to "Like" photoline, so it will rank higher in the list!

Re: Alternativo amended
That's an excellent and concise description of PhotoLine. Congrats!
A couple of comments:
A couple of comments:
- I'd say that all the functions, adjustments, effects, filters, layers and masks work with 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit images.
- I'd also mention that it has 47 available adjustment layers.

Ahh, too bad....Herbert123 hat geschrieben:I actually had more info, but the text is limited to 2000 characters, including spaces.
The reason I mentioned those two points is that they're somewhat common complaints in the Photoshop Elements and Paintshop Pro user forums.
If you think those users would somehow see the AlternativTo.net Web site, you could consider removing the
- Calendar and barcode generation.
- non-destructive workflow
- 32-bit and 16-bit per channel
- EXR files
- WINE compatible
Like I said, those two additional points as well as
- 18 available layer styles.
At any rate, it's still a good job.

This are vital features if you work in 3D and it´s post production, very strong selling point here.photoken hat geschrieben: If you think those users would somehow see the AlternativTo.net Web site, you could consider removing the

I do agree that calendar and bar code are a little odd features to mention and I will replace it with 18 available layer styles like you said.
Cheers,

It's up to 123 to decide if anything is redundant, and what the target audience is likely to respond to. I fully leave it up to him!

Re: Alternativo amended
Juan & Ken: I have amended and edited the text again. Last time it took about a day before it was reviewed and published.
Can anyone here provide a good looking Mac screenshot? (showing off a clean GUI and a nice document).
And perhaps add a review or two
This is the changed version:
Photoline is an image editor which provides a mostly non-destructive professional workflow. Full vector editing is also integrated. Its image editing is on par with Photoshop.
Photoline is compatible with most common Photoshop plugins, such as Topaz, NIK, and FilterForge, and loads Photoshop compatible brush and gradient libraries.
For a fraction of the cost (€59) of Photoshop, creatives and photographers receive a wide range of professional image editing and design features.
- 32 & 64bit versions
- 8/16/32bit per channel / RGB, CMYK, Lab, greyscale & monochrome
- Color management with ICC profiles and linear workflow
- all functions, adjustments, effects, filters, layers and masks work with 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit images
- 47 available adjustment layers
- 18 available layer styles
- a layer in the layer stack can be any image mode and bit depth
- layer masks are regular layers, and may consist of multiple combined layers & groups(!)
- layer opacity from -200 up to +200 for easy inversion of blend effects or doubling an effect
- convert bitmaps to vector layers
- vector layers can be anti-aliased, and be aligned to the pixel grid. Photoline also offers a pixel view
- develop photos with a non-destructive RAW workflow
- retouching tools such as a remove brush, liquify, and many more
- PSD import retains most common adjustment layers & layer effects
- Import & export multi-layered 32bpc EXR files
- non-destructive rotate & scale
- external app link for easy round tripping
- rename images and create catalogues
- powerful image management: search, edit IPTC & EXIF data
- true PDF import & export with /x1a & /x3
- multi-page documents
- rich text & DTP functionality, spot colors
- web export, including WebP, image maps & GIF animations
- batch conversion
- create slideshows
- record actions
- print multi-page documents, flyers & labels
- portable app on a USB-Stick support
- multiprocessor support
- Linux WINE compatible; tested by the developers

Before taking the screenshot, could you open a striking looking photo or composition in Photoline to show off the quality of work possible in Photoline? That is the language which creatives favour (one merely needs to open Pixelmator's website to see what I mean).

Re: Alternativo amended
123,
I assume you'll be updating the Alternativo site to reflect the changes in PL v.19, so I thought I'd also update the screenshot. Now that PL is officially supporting dark colours for the main menu bar, here's the UI showing the Black Mode in its full glory.
Small size for this forum's limitations: The link to the full size image:

Re: Alternativo amended
Already did yesterday. And I updated the old icon as well. But no update so far. I will update your image as well as soon as they update it.
Btw, I wish the scroll bars, sliders, and numeric up and down butons/borders in Photoline would be affected by the interface darkness setting as well. Especially the scrollbars are quite eye-jarring to look at. It is almost there now - just some of the details remain to be improved.
