Re: Image organizers
If you install the FastPictureViewer Codec Pack
http://www.fastpictureviewer.com/codecs/
it will install a Windows Imaging Component (WIC) system DLL so that not only Windows Explorer, but also any program that uses WIC will display PLD thumbnails. IMatch is a Digital Asset Management application that displays PLD thumbnails by using WIC.

Re: Image organizers
Hi Again
I kind of like XnView (though I would prefer ExifPro ..) but the built-in preview is tiny.
I tried to save a pld file with "full preview" enabled, but anything changes.
Anything that I made wrong ?
Thanks

Re: Image organizers
I also prefer XnViewMP, but no, you did nothing wrong. Because XnView does not create previews from the PLD data itself, it will be limited to using the embedded preview image created by PL.sovereign hat geschrieben:I kind of like XnView (though I would prefer ExifPro ..) but the built-in preview is tiny.

Re: Image organizers
I meant XnViewMP, of course.
Then I suppose the embedded preview is not that big .. I assumed "full" stays for full-resolution.

Any File plugin ?Frank10823 hat geschrieben:I use Lightroom and safe addional a pld file.
I'm considering Lightroom as well. What stops me is the fact that I like both RawTherapee and DxO, for which I own a free license of version 8.

Re: Image organizers
I found out Daminion could work. The draw back is that it is necessary to create e separate preview file with a definite file name.
I don't think PhotoLine has "saving templates", so it has to be done manually.

Re: Image organizers
There is a Lightroom plugin called AnyFile which works with PhotoLine PLD files. Another browser which reads the embedded thumbnail in a PLD file is Zoner Photo Studio. With either one of these, PhotoLine can be set up as an external editor, and then the other serves as your organizer and database.sovereign hat geschrieben:Any File plugin ?Frank10823 hat geschrieben:I use Lightroom and safe addional a pld file.

Re: Image organizers
I had Zoner 16, and it did't display PLD files. Version 17 does.
I'm not sure whether the 17 takes advatage of the fast picture viewer codecs that I installed or not .. but it is MUCH faster than the previous release !
It seems like it has everything I like
