Re: PL can't open my psd file
This picture is in a special colour mode, that PhotoLine doesn't support. Probably, other programs just convert it into a supported color space (Grayscale for example for this special picture; I tried it in IrfanView, which displays it this way)
Edit: In Photoshop the colour mode is set to multichannel and the picture has simply one channel, so i guess the easiest way to use the picture is to open it in IrfanView or XnView or whatever works and copy the content into PhotoLine.

Re: PL can't open my psd file
Photoshop : OK, no layers
Gimp : error multichannel.
Photoline : problem with loading.
Xnview : OK, no layers.

Re: PL can't open my psd file
so PL can't support the alpha channel in psd file.
when open psd file with channel more than r,g,b channel, the channel lost.

Re: PL can't open my psd file
there a psd file with alpha channel, I open it with PL, the channel was show as a normal layer.
so sometimes the alpha channel can convert as normal layer, sometimes the alpha channel was lost.

Re: PL can't open my psd file
I'm not sure, but I think the difference is sometimes there is only a channel (and Photoshop has the possibility to define channels: mutli channel mode) and sometimes there is a layer mask. And the arbitrary channels are not supported by PhotoLine.

Re: PL can't open my psd file
There are two normal psd file with one rgb image and one alpha channel, one can convert alpha channel to normal layer, the other can't.

Re: PL can't open my psd file
This behaviour seems to depend on the number of layers. If you flatten the layers of the not working image in Photoshop to the background, you will get the correct result in PhotoLine, but if you create a new layer then, the problem is back again. So, channel to layer conversion of PhotoLine seems to work with 1 layer PSD-files only. A bug?
To the problem of the beginning: In Photoshop, you can add and remove channel arbitrary. If you have more channels then the colour mode of Photoshop needs, the first (three or four for RGB or CMYK) channels are used for the mode, the others are addional. But if you remove channels, so that you have less channels than the colour mode, you are working with, needs, Photoshop change the mode to multi channel automatically. A mode that PhotoLine does not support...
P.S.: The additional channels in these files aren't alpha channels. They are just channels, that are named "Alpha 1".

The file is "Multichannel". PhotoLine doesn't load this.jw2004 hat geschrieben:There is a psd file, pl can't load it, but some other program can open it correctly
"Other programs" don't load PSDs but only the implemented preview image. PhotoLine doesn't do this.

Ah, yes, IrfanView just loads the preview and doesn't convert anything.Gerhard Huber hat geschrieben:"Other programs" don't load PSDs but only the implemented preview image. PhotoLine doesn't do this.

Re: PL can't open my psd file
It is the first file, isn't it?
How do you know that XnView "can show below file"?
In my test, XnView shows the thumbnail. Try this: duplicate the channel in Photoshop, so that you have two channels and paint a bit in one of these channels. Then open it again in XnView.
Another test: duplicate one of the channels again, so that you get three channels. You will get an error message in PhotoLine again, but XnView will open it. But if you change the image mode from multi channel to RGB, XnView and PhotoLine will open it.
It's all about the image mode.
Another way: In the first file, change the mode from multi channel to greyscale. Now you open it in PhotoLine, too.
