Now that PL 19 has been released with the new DeHaze filter, I did a comparison of various automatic methods to remove a colour cast. I thought it would be informative to share the results....
Here are the results (the original image is the top one):
For the White Point correction, I clicked on one of the upturned petal edges to set the white point and then reduced the gamma to 0.45.
For the Automatic Correction, after applying the auto correction I added a Curves adjustment layer to reduce the gamma and increase the brightness (working in Lab mode).
Here's the result using the Colour Cast Correction action I posted (http://www.pl32.com/forum3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4737). After running the action, I also added another Curves adjustment layer and reduced the gamma and increased the brightness (again working in Lab mode):
As always, different images will yield quite different results, so it pays to try a variety of techniques on a particular photo.
