I am trying to design some icons for a piece of software. They are 16 px x 16 px.
When using the lasso tools in 19.01 using add & subtract they do not work properly on images of this size. Results are all over the place.
I had to get the job done in Gimp.

Re: Lasso Tool issues with small images
As an alternative suggestion, I found that the Greenfish Icon Editor is a great tool for doing icons, and it's free. Just a thought....kevjon hat geschrieben:I am trying to design some icons for a piece of software. They are 16 px x 16 px.

Re: Lasso Tool issues with small images
Just tried the lasso tools with a 16 x 16 rgb layer (with PL 19.02 OS X). As far as I can see, the lasso tools work fine, including "add" and "subtract". Can you give more details what goes wrong for you (maybe including a screenshot, sample file, …)?
Cheers
Burkhard.

I'm working on Windows 10 (with latest Nvidia drivers) and PL19.01 and just tried it in 19.02 and the same strange results.
Start a new image 16 x 16 (72 dpi)
Add color (in my case rgb 75, 75, 75)
See images below which are hopefully self explanatory. As I continue to add or subtract it just gets weirder.

Re: Lasso Tool issues with small images
I can confirm the same on Win7 Pro x64 with PL 19.02 x64 -- the Add and Subtract functions for the Rectangular Selection tool do not give the expected results (that I get when working on a 640 x 400 image, for example).kevjon hat geschrieben: I'm working on Windows 10 (with latest Nvidia drivers) and PL19.01 and just tried it in 19.02 and the same strange results.

Re: Lasso Tool issues with small images
Using the Free Lasso (Add and Subtract) in polygon mode also gives funky results.

Re: Lasso Tool issues with small images
Now I see what you mean – indeed, there seems to be something wrong with the lasso display – the lasso isn't drawn around the selected pixels but inset by half a pixel. In your case, when the selection is just 1 px wide, the lasso becomes a single line (if you look closely in your screenshot, you can see the dashed lines – but mostly you see the rectangle enclosing all your selection). Here's a similar example, but with mask display on, so that it's easier to see the selected pixels (lighter grey), and I have also added a selection which is 2 px wide, so you can see the inset lasso: Copying the selection works, though.kevjon hat geschrieben:See images below which are hopefully self explanatory. Probably not of much help, but at least this seems to be what's going on.

Burkard
No worries, hopefully it is something that can be addressed in the future.
For me PL really is an awesome piece of software, I'm glad Herbert made me a aware of it on the modo forums.
