Silly newbie question.

I've read the manual and can't seem to find an answer so I'm looking for help here.

'Simple' task. I want to select a small region/area of a photograph and apply an adjustment just to that selection. But the adjustment is being applied to the entire photo. I'm doing something very basically wrong. (Free Lasso/Filter/Quality/Dehaze. When I do this the dehaze is applied to the entire photo). If I do the same for, say, Lasso/Tool/Color/Hue Saturation it works fine. But the Dehaze doesn't.

Dehaze applies the correction to the whole image.

After using Dehaze you could create a clipping layer with "Tools > Lasso > Convert To Clipping Layer" and drag that clipping layer onto/into the correction layer created by Dehaze in the Layer List.

Thanks Martin. Pity dehaze can't be applied to a selection. I have a work around that works for me. Simply duplicate the layer. Apply dehaze to the lower layer and erase the unwanted section from the top layer.

I'm trying to dehaze mountains in a landscape without dehazing the whole photo.

Far be it for me to try to teach an old dog new tricks , but a quick word of advice: If you don't like to use masks and clipping layers, you're missing a good amount of the power of PhotoLine. I realize that PSP doesn't have clipping layers and its masking capabilities are somewhat limited and onerous to use, but things are different in the PL World....

Thanks Ken. But I'm at the crawling stage with Photoline. I have to learn to walk before I can run!!!
At the moment I have a large assignment of photos to do. I haven't the time to learn as much as I should be.

I still rely on PSP for 99% of my work. I can't risk a swap over at the moment.

But I'm a Photoline convert.
