When working in Document Mode, I can zoom the image by clicking in the zoom percentage entry field and using the scroll function on my trackpad. However, the zoomed view moves up and to the left which does not display the area I'm interested in.
I'd like the zoomed image to maintain the centering of the previous zoom level.
This seems to be related to the problem I previously mentioned (in the Beta forum):
http://www.pl32.com/forum3/viewtopic.ph ... %3A#p36617
with the zoomed area not centering at the point clicked with the Magnifier tool.

Re: Req: Maintain image center when zooming
You know, now that you mention it: I was confused when you mentioned the zoom percentage field. And then I discovered that document mode actually offers a percentage field in the status bar, while image mode does not?!
I do not understand the reasoning - why would you not want the same zoom percentage input field for image mode? How strange. In the other zoom related thread I actually request for said feature - please add it to the image mode as well.
As for maintaining the image center when using the zoom percentage input field: YES, that would be great. I tried it, and because I have 1000% edge widths set up (in order to be able to pan the view at all times, even when zoomed out), the document disappears off-screen completely.
+1 please.

Yes, I find this to be strange, as well. Another implementation method might be to include an additional "Specify..." option in the View...Zoom submenu that would open a dialog box to enter the zoom percentage. But that would have to maintain the image centering, of course....

Re: Req: Maintain image center when zooming
Seems to work on OS X. Zooming via the menu maintains the image center. Zooming with the scroll wheel or clicking with the magnifier tool maintains the mouse position, which is the correct behaviour, imo. The only exception is when the borders around the document become larger than specified under Preferences -> Display -> Document. Then the document will be centered on the canvas.photoken hat geschrieben:When working in Document Mode, I can zoom the image by clicking in the zoom percentage entry field and using the scroll function on my trackpad. Re: Req: Maintain image center when zooming
It could very well be a difference in behaviour between the two platforms. All my complaints about this refer to what happens on Windows....bkh hat geschrieben: Seems to work on OS X.
