How can I clone in a new layer?

Hello,

How have I set the Copy Brush to pick-up in all the stacked layer and (this is important) to output in a new layer?
Whenever I set "All Layers" in the Tool Settings window, after having created and selected a new layer, that doesn't happen.

Your settings seem correct to me, "All layers" should be read, and the result is always stored in the active layer. Did you really add a new layer with transparency on top and activate it?

Thank you, it works. It works also when I copy and then paste, as layer, a selection of the background or other layer. Actually I must have made an error; maybe I was distant.
