Hi,
I have written a list of the German PS menu and referenced it to the fitting menu entries of PL. Because the entries are at the same place of the English version, it should be no problem to translate it. In PS tutorials besides the tool also the menu is noted, thus, I prefer this scheme compared to a alphabetic list. It should be noted that often you find the PS tool hidden in tools of PL or you can replace it by a workaround, e.g. photofilters by the blend mode "color". But I think you know this already. If you are interested I can post the list.

I'm starting a new thread on the possibility of a user document rather than dragging this thread down a long road!

Re: Sorry, but masks, lassos and selections are driving me mad
I apologize in advance for reviving this topic. I am only just getting caught up on various forums.Alan9940 hat geschrieben:...I think part of the reason many new users to PL don't find this documentation helpful is because they don't know what term to search for. We've discussed this previously on this board...in many cases (most?) it's not that the functionality/information is not there, rather it's deciphering what to call it in PL!...
I believe the best thing to do is that whatever the help is written in, that searchable key words be added to the topics that use PS terminology. It is transparent to the user, they just type in a common PS term and the appropriate help topic(s) are shown.
Because there are so, so many help resources on the internet, I would think the PS terms would spring to the new user's fingertips. After all, many of those new to PL are going to be following along with PS' tutorials if they search the internet for something they think is what they want. They are not really going to find PL tutorials on the web.
As well, for those who are experienced in PS such as myself (I began with PS version 2), and even though I have used PL for many versions, I still find myself subconsciously using PS terms when I search in the help. I believe adding those help keywords would aid even the experienced users who switched to PL or are simply investigating making the switch.
I have done many help files over the years (soft- and hardware documentation is what I did for 25 years) and when the help files were created, I would often use the competitors index in their help file to add keywords in the appropriate topics of our help files. It simply makes the transition easier.
My two-cents worth of thoughts.

I have no idea what the kittens are supposed to do after using PL for at least six versions.
