Gerhard Huber hat geschrieben:the cutmarker width and the registration marker width (it's always the same) can be changed with an registry entry in the "Settings" of PhotoLine. Setup a new value "CutMarkerWidth" (default is 50).
Here you can setup a "CutMarkerLength", too. The default value is 100.
I do not have any success with this:
cutmark reg new.jpg
No matter what type of data I provide in the registry value, the line width of the crop marks and registration mark remains the same as before when exported to PDF.

Not sure how this works under Windows, but for a similar change in OS X, I have to quit PL, make and save the changes, then restart PL.

Cheers

In Windows, as long as the program (PL) is closed, the registry changes take effect immediately. Just to be sure, I closed all programs and re-booted. No joy. :(

It's a little bit tricky to change this value. It is stored with the document and can be changed only by editing the current settings. So load your document, select "Layout > Print Markers..." and press OK. Now the value of the registry should be set.

Still no success. I've even created a new document, but when the document is exported to PDF, the width of the lines in the crop marks and register mark do not change from the default width. :?

I changed the registry value to "10", so any change should have been obvious....

sorry, but the value has to be DWORD.

OK, got it now. Thanks.

For others wanting more precise crops and registration marks, using a value of "20" decimal looks very good.

Still would be nice to have that pretty-looking registration mark I showed in my first post....

As a side note, I cannot change the width of the markers for a PLD file that was created using the old defaults.

I've tried everything: disabled the markers, saved the file, and rebooted the computer; but enabling the print markers and exporting to PDF still uses the old thick widths. New files created after changing the registry setting correctly use the thinner marks. :?

you have to remove the Print Markers attribute first and setup a new one.

Oooohhh!

Now I understand: it's not enough to de-select the print markers so that document attribute reads "Print Markers: No". I have to actually delete the "Print Markers" line, and then re-create the markers.

Working OK, now. Thanks! :)

An alternative would be to open the actual pdf after creating it, and change the print marks in Photoline. Then export again. The paper size may have to be adjusted first, though.
