Win7 Pro x64 SP1
PL 19.50 x64 (also current beta)
I've created a Guides Preset (using a formula) to create a set of guides for a 4mm bleed on all 4 sides.
The guides are created perfectly if I apply the preset to a document, any size document.
When I apply that preset to an image (new or existing), the right and bottom guides are correct, but the top and left guides are placed too far away from the edge of the image.
Here's the guides preset:

sorry, but I don't understand what you did here.
4 mm guides should look like the appended file.

Re: Prob: Guides formula not working on images
The top and left guides in your example aren't formulas but absolute values (in pixels), so they only work for documents having a resolution of 300 dpi. To make PL recognise then as formulas, you'll have to use "-4mm + 0*h", like in Gerhard's example.photoken hat geschrieben:When I apply that preset to an image (new or existing), the right and bottom guides are correct, but the top and left guides are placed too far away from the edge of the image.
Cheers

Re: Prob: Guides formula not working on images
Aha!
Thanks, guys. As near as I can remember, for the top and left guides I simply used
-4mm
I thought that would be the equivalent of a "formula", but now I realize it's not. Using
w*0 - 4mm
h*0 - 4mm
are formulas, and work perfectly on documents and images.
I also see now that if the value in the Guides panel is gray text that means a formula is being used; and if the value is white text that means that an absolute pixel value is being used.
Thanks again! Much appreciated!
