High Frequency Separations - Nice try but No Cigar

Hi,

Please find attached further advanced action. As usual you have following Masks to do your retouch in most cases by use of Healing Brush:
a) Retouch Low Frequencies Mask
b) Retouch High Frequencies Mask

This time I added a Gaussian Blur layer for (a) as in most cases you try to smooth it anyway

Furthermore you will find following Mask where you should use white or black Airbrush:
c) Soften/Sharpen Mask

this is attached to the top High Frequencies Layer, which is now blended at 200%. The Mask is now 50% gray and that means you have an effective 100% blend. As soon as you brighten it will sharpen and darken it will soften respectively. This should be fine if you further want to treat hair, pupils etc.

If you want to age people just start to blend (a) and (b) with negative values.

Sorry just small steps, but I think next version is now easier to use.
Did put all responsible layers into one group.
Leave it collapsed and activate at Layer Toolbox Find and

(a) type "retouch"
All three retouching layers will appear and you can jump from one to the other very easy.
(b) type "blur"
Two gausian blur layers will appear. One for setting frequencies and the other to blur low frequency retouch mask

Now the next version.

This time it automatically takes care about low frequency. In this case the LF Mask contains the picture itself influenced by adaptive soften (Modify Blur/Retouch LF Mask).You are still able to modify low frequencies by means of "Retouch LF" Layer.

As before, activate Find.

Type "blur" and Modify:
Blur/Retouch LF Mask - change Radius Size (10-20)
Blur Frequencies - change Radius Size (40-70) and Threshold (2-20)

In some cases you can already finish your job within seconds. For further tweaks:

Type "Ret" and Modify:
Retouch HF by means of Healing Brush with high intensity
Retouch LF by means of Healing Brush or Airbrush with low intensity
Blur/Retouch LF Mask by means of black or white Airbrush with high intensity (for not effected areas)
Retouch Soften/Sharpen with black or white Airbrush with low intensity
