Re: Neue Testversion 22.90b15
Why don't simply use mouse scroll wheel for zoom to object?
Zoom by keyboard usually used for global document zoom, so it is more logical to preserve document center with it and don't depend of selected layer position. I personally prefer how zoom works in new version.
Anyway it is always better to have setting in Preferences, so user could adjust the things in best way.

Re: Neue Testversion 22.90b15
I agree. I just noticed today - I also prefer to zoom to the active element.
This should probably be a preference setting.
Or base it on the current selection: if nothing is selected, zoom to the center of the current view. If one or more objects are selected: zoom to the center of that selection.

Yes! That would be a really useful addition. I always have to catch myself when working in LAB mode which colours are affected. A basic rule in GUI design: rely on recognition, rather recollection.russellcottrell wrote: ↑Fri 27 Aug 2021 16:59Gradient bars on the axes of the curves graph are especially helpful in Lab mode, using the a and b curves.Herbert123 wrote: ↑Wed 25 Aug 2021 19:35 I also wouldn't mind if the Curves would display a greyscale bar at the bottom and an option to inverse the display by right-mouse clicking that bar. For print work the light values are often positioned to the left since it indicates EXTRA ink. The triangles would indicate the start and end values of the range using the greyscale bar - it becomes functional and easier to control.

Yep, color guides for curves in LAB makes sense.
By the way, some apps use background gradient guide in LAB mode, but i am not really sure that it guides in the same way as gradient bars at the edges.

Lighting effect in Distort Tool is also 8 bit only (same as in all other places) and so produce a lot of banding problems.
Seems 8 bit limit problem is globally linked to multiple tools.

Yes, it does.Herbert123 wrote: ↑Thu 26 Aug 2021 19:47 I do agree however that it is essential that there is a way to stamp 16bit large textures. I don't recall exactly, but I believe the stamp tool retains full 16bit/32bit values?

I will fix that.Herbert123 wrote: ↑Thu 26 Aug 2021 21:30 Open the attached file.
Open the new Animate panel.
Select all frames or a single frame (layers), then Layout--> Document-->Scale, Mode Percentage, 200%, Quick.
Click OK.
Crash!

My bad. I didn't read your original post thoroughly enough. I will fix that.shijan wrote: ↑Thu 26 Aug 2021 23:43It happens only at 100% Zoom and higher Zoom settings. Try to use exact same settings in Brush Editor:Martin Huber wrote: ↑Thu 26 Aug 2021 16:59I can't reproduce that, neither on a Retina nor on a non-Retina display. Does this happen with every image and every zoom factor?

Transparency isn't part of color management.shijan wrote: ↑Thu 26 Aug 2021 23:44It also could be Background with Linear gamma and Layer with sRGB gamma. In that situation brush look will change in opposite way. The source of the problem is the same - Transparent pixels ignore color management and gamma transformations.Oh, now I think I understand: You have a background layer with simple sRGB and atop of that one with gamma 1.0
This isn't a bug. There are two situation:
- When you paint with a soft brush on white background, you get color values from 0 to 255. Converting this from linear gamma to sRGB maintains its appearance.
- When you paint on transparency, you only have the color value 0 with varying transparency. Converting this from linear gamma to sRGB will keep the 0 and the transparency. Rendering the result in sRGB to a background will change its appearance.
